Winter Court 09: Sensu Entry 1

Yet another submission having to do with the L5R Winter Court game.

This is the first side of Doji Rinji's entry into the Dragon Clan's art exhibit, to glorify the heroes of the War of Dark Fire. Rinji's biggest craft skill is actually Folding Fans, and his biggest artisan skill is silk painting, so this entry combines the two.

The Folding Fan is two-sided; this side is pretty heavily symbolic, so fans may have to "read into" what they see, since it doesn't depict the war's heroes literally. It does symbolically, though.

This was made using scanned images of origami paper, scanned images of thick textured paper, a photograph of a folding fan, and a lot of "cutting out" and layering in Photoshop. It was a lot of fun to experiment with something new for a change!
